The Global Soap Project is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Your contribution will help us recover and recycle soap from hotels and create new bars which are distributed to vulnerable populations throughout the world. Repurposing this waste can greatly improve the quality of life for hundreds of thousands of displaced persons, one bar of soap at a time.
You can also send donations by clicking here to download the donation form, complete and mail it back. You can also just write your check or money order out to “Global Soap Project, Inc.” and mail to the address below:

this is a fantastic project. Like so many others I’m sure when I first heard about this I thought, “what a no-brainer!” but it takes a lot of hard work to make even the simplest concepts come alive.
congratulations and keep up the good work.

Hello, I have no money but would love to volunteer somehow. I live in New York City. What do you suggest?
Keep up the good work!
Karen
Thanks for the first shipment to Africa, New Song of Grace Uganda.
This will mean the difference between sickness and health to some, and for those still left in direst circumstances, death and life. I will be making my donation as soon as possible, and I plead for everyone to please do the same, no matter how big or small, God will multiply what we do and give in faith. If one thinks we couldn’t be left helpless in a split second, look at Haiti. Let us love God and people and do the right thing. Again, thank you Soap Project from the bottom of my heart.
Hello,
I sent a box of brand new mini soaps to PO Box 94021, Atlanta, GA 30318 Priority Mail on 2/3/2010 and the post office returned it! Please let me know if there is a new address to which I may forward this donation.
Jennifer
If you ever want to get into soap collection big time, think about expanding the collections to Orlando and Las Vegas. Just think of the ten’s of thousands of hotel room in each of those two cities.
It’s a thought…….
I have a lot of soap endings that I saved, not knowing
what to do with them. Shall I mail them to your company?
Thank you Josephine – we cannot use soap endings, especially from different types/brands of soap. Each batch must be processed using the same type of soap, which is why working with the hoteliers is such a great fit. Thank you so much for your offer and we appreciate your support!
Thanks for your comment Jim and we couldn’t agree more! We recently partnered with the Gaylord in Nashville, several properties in Orlando and will be expanding to Las Vegas as soon as we can manage the logistics.
Hi Jennifer – we will follow up and see if we can figure it out! Thanks for your donation!
We started collecting soaps for your project some time ago and I now have two boxes. When I first contacted you, you were trying to arrange for other hotels in our area of the country to participate so you could pick up soaps from us on a “route.” Have you made any progress? I’m wondering what I should do with my soaps? We are at the Clarion Inn & Convention Center, Gillette, Wyoming. Thanks! Mary Kelley
Hi Mary – we haven’t formalized any logistical operations in Wyoming yet – it’s a long way from Atlanta! Several hotels are shipping soap if that is possible for your team. We will contact you as soon as possible. Thanks for your support!
Oh my gosh! How many times a day do I say “go wash your hands” or ask “did you wash your hands”?!? What a simple action to make such a profound impact! I will see what I can find out about here in Texas. Blessings!
Hi my name is Jordan, im a teenager from MN and I was wondering, since me and my friends have so much interest in helping out, if we could have a fundraiser of somesort with your permission and send the money to you. And if thats not possible if we could have a parent do the legal stuff and we raise awarness. It would be great to get answer back for I’d like to start as soon as possible.
Thanks, Jordan
I am shocked at the amount of waste that occurs in hotels. Just because a bar of soap has been used one time to wash someone’s hands, why does the hotel staff throw it away and replace it with a new bar? At the very least, it is wasteful and at the most, environmentally responsible. At least with collecting the soap and reforming it, it is put to good use. However, I saw a news story that says that hotels will be gradually phasing out bar soap in favor of soap dispensers.
I have just written to Kimpton Boutique Hotels and to the resorts at Walt Disney World, asking them to participate in your program. I hope you continue to grow & wish you all the best for success!
Thanks for your comment Barbara. In reality, hotels must provide new soap to customers – they are paying for comfort and convenience. We believe that we can turn wasted soap into a solution to a much bigger problem – eradicating diseases that could be prevented with clean water and soap! We are definitely looking at the environmental benefits, but more than anything – hoping to improve the quality of life for those who are vulnerable to these diseases.
Thanks Jordon! Of course we would welcome any help you and your friends can provide! Visit our Contribution page to find out more, or contact us directly at info@globalsoap.org and we’ll do what we can to help you organize! Thanks again, we are so happy that you have heard about the GSP and want to get involved!
Do you have any volunteer opportunities for a teen and his mom? We live in Alpharetta. Do you ever need drivers to pick up soap or sorters? We’d love to be involved. My husband and his family fled the war in Liberia, West Africa in the ’80′s and he has much family there so I know the great need in Uganda, Kenya and other countries! Thank you, we’d love to be a part of something so great.
I was touched by this story when I saw it sometime ago on tv, don’t even remember the show but Derreck Kayongo has stayed on my mind. I have been collecting new hotel soaps I’ve collected and a few friends too. Not alot but need to send them on their way, I’m limited to space and have no money to share for this project. Was going to send it to the PO Box 94021 in Atlanta but see others notes from people who have said their packages were returned. How sad. Can anyone tell me what to do with my donations?
Hey! I read about this in Shape magazine and think its a great project. I’ve been going to Wildwood Crest, NJ with my family every summer for about 16 or 17 years (im 19) and I know that there are a LOT of hotels in that area. I would love to help out and get those hotels included in this. Just email me if you can and let me know.
Keep Up The Good Work!!
Hey all!
I read about this project in “Shape” magazine, and I think it’s wonderful! We are so wasteful, and hotels in particular, are a terrific exercise in excess. As hotels strive to be greener (which they advertise to their clientele) they should consider more innovative projects like yours. It’s a bonus for them, really, despite the logistical issues, as a kind of nice PR freebie–as well as doing some real good.
Yes! You can contact our Volunteer Coordinator at ashley@globalsoap.org, or check out our listing on idealist.org for upcoming opportunities to help out! Thanks Sefanie and Holden!!
Thanks Alex! We appreciate your support!
Hey Danielle – thanks for writing and your help spreading the word. If you know of a hotel that might want to participate, please tell them about our site, and tell them to go to the “Hotel Check-In” page. We will ask a few questions there, then contact them to work out the details. Thanks again, have a great summer!
What a wonderful idea. I am unable to send money but I am willing to collect soap in our area. I am retired and have plenty of free time
Thank you Ella McIntyre
Thank you Ella! The best thing you can do is spread the word. We appreciate your support!!
