Recycling soap from more than 1,000 hotels…

Each day, more than 2.6 million bars of partially-used soap are thrown out by hotels in the United States.  We’re working to reduce that waste and turn it into a tool to save lives by recycling the discarded soap into new bars that are sent to vulnerable populations around the world.  Today, we’re receiving discarded soap from more than 1,000 hotels across North America.  And, each week, we’re removing more than 7,500 pounds of used soap from the waste stream, and converting it into 30,000 new bars of soap.

It’s free for hotels to participate (though we do ask that they help cover the cost of shipping the soap to us, which is a tax-deductible expense).  Hotels can learn more and sign-up here.

While we do not currently accept used soap from individuals, we do invite everyone to get involved.  To learn more about how you can help us make a difference, please click here.

Thanks so much for your support!  Together, we’re reducing waste and saving lives, one bar of soap at a time.
