St. Lucia

A shipment of soap accompanied a disaster relief mission in 2010 in response to the flooding in St. Lucia, which left thousands homeless and cut off access to important supplies, including soap.  The flooding also left standing water, which was contaminated, and greatly increased exposure and the risk of catching a hygiene or sanitation-related illness.  The soap was distributed to people who had lost their homes and access to soap to help prevent illness until regular soap access was restored.
